Luke and the whole Vision team were exemplary from the outset, they are passionate about what they do and they love making great buildings out of wood. We asked them to look at our project after becoming frustrated with the standards of the national timber frame home building company we had started our journey with. We had a design, planning permission and a builder already lined up at this stage. Tim, Luke and the team quickly put together a competitively priced bid for a timber frame, as well as glazing and ancillary items, to allow us to drop our previous company. Even after paying the copyright penalty to the national firm, financially there was a significant saving with Vision. Changing to Vision was the best decision we made during our self build journey. Luke in particular was heavily involved with our project and offered invaluable advice. This advice was often over and above the contractual role of Vision and was very reassuring for us first time self building non-trade professionals. Unlike others we encountered prior to this, Luke and the Vision team understood what was important to us and helped us to realise these goals. Beyond the phenomenal service that Luke offered, the rest of the team were similarly excellent and always friendly and patient. Extremely highly recommended.

Right from the start Luke and the team were exemplary in the uplift of my bungalow. They went over and above supporting me as a self builder sharing their knowledge and experience during the build. I was kept informed of progress at all times and the team were very accommodating when it came to delays doing everything they could to keep my project on track. We have recently worked with Vision to help us achieve a new wooden framed building on our Community Grow Space site in Weymouth. They have been brilliant from the start making the process of design and construction smooth and efficient. They have also been flexible when adaptions to the design were needed and were always happy to jump on a Teams/phone call as required to help solve the issue and come up with solutions. I chose Vision Development to extend and transform my single storey bungalow into a house - adding on a first floor of 4 bedrooms, bathroom, ensuite, plus a second floor loft room with ensuite and eaves storage.
What appealed to me was the speed and quality control of offsite construction for all the panels, along with the insulation system they use. The panels were simply craned into place. Within a 6 week period, the building was transformed from a few ground floor walls, into a three storey house. The floor boards are all glued down rather than screwed/nailed, and a year later, even after being exposed to the elements during the build don't squeak at all. The joists are all posi metal web, making running plumbing/cabling/ventilation tubes a breeze. The foil-based insulation system ensures the air-tightness needed to achieve modern energy standards and allowed me to install an MVHR system (removing the need for those horrible window vents).
I managed the build programme, working with multiple companies on their piece of the overall effort. Vision Development were, by far, the least stressful part of my build. A shout out to Luke and the team for answering all my questions and back-and-forth comms - even those not related to their piece of the build! Nothing was too much trouble and importantly they know their stuff to the right level of detail. They aim is to make the whole project a success, not just their piece.
I now have a very energy efficient and air tight house, a far better method than standard brick/blockwork cavity. If I could go back in time, I would have flattened all the ground floor walls, done full timber frame/steel internal structure with Vision, and then brick/blockwork fascia walls to wrap it all.
Wouldn't hesitate to use them for the next project.

I have dealt with Vision Development for a number of years as a supplier of materials but no longer work under that banner. I now own and run a building and house refurbishment business. My client required some extensive remodeling of their current home which included the removal of an original dormer window construction and to recreate but in a much bigger format giving them a 50% increase in floor space for the first floor. I touched base with Tim & Jane and the ball was rolling. They introduced me to their construction manager Luke who has been absolutely stunning in his service. They also had an experienced roofing contractor run by Taylor who has been taking care of the construction elements on site with myself project managing. The whole process has been smooth, speedy and above all professional. We are near the end of the actual construction phase and my clients are overwhelmed with what we have achieved for them so far. I am now gearing up for the internal works which will commence within the next few days.
I can’t wait to work with these guys again as it’s such a painless process and also at a very competitive price.

We approached a number of building companies with our proposal for the conversion of a steel framed barn and received varying responses. It is fair to say that Vision were the most enthusiastic and embraced the concept right from our first approach. Tim and his team supported and helped us in transforming our initial thoughts and plans into practical proposals. Like all complex projects there were issues that needed to be resolved, our barn conversion was not as straightforward as a new build house as we had to fit the timber frame structure around the steel barn frame. Working with us Vision found solutions for the technical difficulties and we ended up with a house that is exactly as we initially envisioned. Both in the office and on site Vision were easy to speak with and friendly, they kept us fully informed of what they were doing, delivering everything that they promised at the price quoted, despite the chaotic building material prices through 2022. We have been working with Vision Development South for the past 3 years at our Lakes development in the Cotswolds - The lakes By Yoo . They have so far supplied and erected timber framed buildings for eighteen apartments in three blocks and eight, two bed lakeside cabins on our site. The team at Vision have been an absolute pleasure to work with, every step of the way .

My husband and I had a masterplan to convert a bungalow into a house with a new roomy first storey.
We needed space for our new family and this was the best route for us to take. The next step was selecting the right timber frame company to carry out the project which was an anxious moment for us but we quickly realised after visiting the offices and factory of ‘Vision’ that we had made the right decision. The quotation was a ‘Fixed’ quote and not left open to wandering figures which was vital for us.

Vision helped turn our architect’s design for a three bedroom annex into a reality.
They managed the process from inception to construction, working to a fixed budget. The timber frame construction was errected on the scheduled day, and completed within a week of arriving on site, to budget. The accuracy of the planning meant we could co-ordinate all the trades with the arrival of the timber frame.
Luke was particularly helpful throughout the process. He advised not us only on the timber frame construction process, but also met with our builder and provided additional support with decisions on foundations, insulation and general planning. It is the first time I have completed a building project from the ‘ground up’ and will definitely use Vision for our next project.

When looking for a timber frame company to manufacture and erect a timber frame for my extension, Vision stuck out from the rest. I got 4 or 5 quotes, Vision wasn’t the cheapest, they also weren’t the most expensive, but they were the only company that really gave me the confidence I was looking for. They clearly had expertise and were going to support me through the process, not just supply a cheaply made frame and outsource the erection to an unknown contractor, this was the feeling I got from one of the others. I was invited to visit the factory where I saw how the panels were made, saw the work they were doing and had in-depth conversations with Tim. Vision is a family run business and these values really come through, also very important. Site visits were thoroughly carried out and I’m extremely happy with the end product. From the outset of our Self-Build project to change our 1950's bungalow into our forever how Vision Development were excellent. Nothing was a major problem to overcome, including working under the tin hat to protect parts of our original house we wanted to keep. Vision supplied and erected a timber frame for a 4 bedroom detatched house. Their service was excellent with a well designed timber frame of good quality and excellent value. The few problems that arose were very promptly dealt with and I always felt that they had the best intentions of the client at heart. Theirs will be the first number I call should I need another timber frame. They also supplied doors and windows which were also very good quality.

Vision has fulfilled my dream to add an extension to my agricultural home. The process was simple and Tim understood exactly how I envisaged the home to look.The larch clad extension has floor to ceiling turn and tilt windows and also has large patio doors making the rooms light and airy. The whole timber frame arrived on a lorry and was up within a few weeks. In the end the whole project took 6 months to complete. Really happy, especially the interior space and insulation, very little heating required and cool in the summer. The raised patio deck with its glass balustrade gives my home the ';wow' factor. Just beautiful, very happy.
We are 95% complete with our new build house project, Vision we’re contracted to provide a bespoke timber frame to meet the Passive House standards we had applied to the design. They were engaging and innovative in their approach, very willing to help with ideas for technical challenges in the design and also suggesting other companies to tackle the works outside their contract.

Metrix Development Ltd build quality homes and have demanding standards when selecting materials to be incorporated into a construction. As with any developer we depend on quality of product, budget and timescales all of which were met by Vision Development. The site was difficult to access and situated next to a railway line therefore not permitting a crane to be brought onto site as would be normal. Not a problem to Vision, the panels were hand-balled into position and the job was completed.

Our project wasn’t a simple one, but there again it would seem that most things we do never are.
Unlike most people who are sensible and build a house from the beginning so everything is designed together, our project was to turn an existing poorly insulated 1960’s chalet bungalow into a large more efficient aesthetically pleasing house. Many timber frame manufacturers wouldn’t entertain such a scheme due to the technical difficulties of matching the new timber structure to the existing masonry walls. Vision Developments however were happy to take on the challenge. They worked with us and our drawings to design the structure that would enable them to match the new timber frame to the old imperfect walls. Just to make things more difficult for them we then broke the news that we also remaining resident in the house during the work. Un-phased by our stupidity Vision put together an efficient sequence of work to seamlessly remove the existing bungalow roof, erect the first floor wall panels, partitions and crane in the huge 9 metre wide roof trusses to complete the outer shell as quickly as possible. It was very much a case of “Off with the old and on with the New” which enabled the building to be stripped and water proof again all within one month. During this time there were a few hic-ups and challenges where we would make a few “last minute” adjustments. The workmen on site however were very friendly and organised, and worked efficiently to deal with these issues to get our structure up as fast possible. Without the confident, helpful and professional approach of Vision Development the work to our house would have been far more difficult and stressful and we would not have been able to remain in the dwelling while the work progressed. We highly recommend them.
Our project wasn’t a simple one, but there again it would seem that most things we do never are.
Unlike most people who are sensible and build a house from the beginning so everything is designed together, our project was to turn an existing poorly insulated 1960’s chalet bungalow into a large more efficient aesthetically pleasing house. Many timber frame manufacturers wouldn’t entertain such a scheme due to the technical difficulties of matching the new timber structure to the existing masonry walls. Vision Developments however were happy to take on the challenge. They worked with us and our drawings to design the structure that would enable them to match the new timber frame to the old imperfect walls. Just to make things more difficult for them we then broke the news that we also remaining resident in the house during the work. Un-phased by our stupidity Vision put together an efficient sequence of work to seamlessly remove the existing bungalow roof, erect the first floor wall panels, partitions and crane in the huge 9 metre wide roof trusses to complete the outer shell as quickly as possible. It was very much a case of “Off with the old and on with the New” which enabled the building to be stripped and water proof again all within one month. The process was smooth and timely from start to finish, changes from the architects designs were accommodated, and the outbuilding they have made for us - incorporating several steels - is of excellent quality. Everyone at Vision have been fantastic from the very beginning to the end. A few changes from us were dealt with speedily and effectively (sorry about those!). It was great that different members of the team popped in to check on development and make sure we were happy and everything came in at exactly the price agreed, no niggles or unexpected bills. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone. It is rare but these guys turn up when they say and do what they say well within the timings initially put forward.
Timber frame panels and rafters for large double storey extension to 3 sides of our 1960's house in Oxfordshire completed without our family moving out! Lots of awkward angles and walls that weren't square to contend with so a number of the panels manufactured on site! Impressive 'can do' attitude - can't recommend them too highly! I was so pleased to have found Vision Developments. From the outset speaking with Tim I knew I wanted to use them. His can do attitude, experience and contacts was great. He and his team Jane, Lucy and Rafal were always very helpful and willing to put themselves out even after the build. The build itself was dealt with very professionally by Roy and Christian. Really happy with our new cabin. Communication with Tim and his staff was great from the off, which reassured us we were making the right choice. Once the structure arrived on site it flew up and the standard of finish is great. Other builders and the building inspector from the council have commented favourably on the quality of the materials used and the quality of the construction itself. We made a couple of changes 'on-the-fly' which were accomodated by the contractors on site (although I'm sure they won't thank me for suggesting that they enjoy awkward customers).

Vision did a superb job for us and Yarrells school. We designed a timber frame building with with an unusual butterfly roof. Vision worked very hard to deliver the scheme we designed. The were reasonably priced and extremely quick on site. The timber frame flew up and the result was excellent. The school are very happy with the building. It has also performed thermally as well.
From the outset it was clear that we had made the right choice in using Tim and his team at Vision. Tim's vision, values and high standards run through the whole company whether they be in the office, the workshop or on site.
Vision have restored our faith in the building trade. It really has been a joy and a pleasure for them to be involved in our project and we are sorry that their part in our project is at an end. The coffee machine is always on and you are all, always welcome in our home.

Vision were recommended to us by a friend who also used them. Tim and the team have been great with our double extension and were always on hand to sort out any issues. The build was but up on time and the finishing touches have really made all the difference. The quality of the timber and cladding is amazing. Luke was onsite pretty much every day project managing, or just a phone call away.

I appear to be the exception in these reviews. Bottom line being that I wish we had never contracted with Vision. Much of their work was as expected, but we have had problems, some of which have been resolved, some not. But the nub of the issue is being treated as though we are stupid and know nothing. There has on a number of occasions been an arrogance in the correspondence between us, both in writing and on the phone. And when there is no route out of accepting a problem is a genuine problem, then they stop speaking to us and hide away. It is correct to say we are not builders, but we have professionals around us so we are not unaware or uneducated. Our next project will not be going the way of Vision.

We approached a number of building companies with our proposal for the conversion of a steel framed barn and received varying responses. It is fair to say that Vision were the most enthusiastic and embraced the concept right from our first approach. Tim and his team supported and helped us in transforming our initial thoughts and plans into practical proposals. Like all complex projects there were issues that needed to be resolved, our barn conversion was not as straightforward as a new build house as we had to fit the timber frame structure around the steel barn frame. Working with us Vision found solutions for the technical difficulties and we ended up with a house that is exactly as we initially envisioned. Both in the office and on site Vision were easy to speak with and friendly, they kept us fully informed of what they were doing, delivering everything that they promised at the price quoted, despite the chaotic building material prices through 2022. If we were to take on another project we would definitely use Vision again.

I can't recommend Vision Development highly enough!
From the early design phase of all our buildings we've worked closely with Vision" in truly two way discussions . We were able to explore all the pros and cons of different timber frame wall build ups / achievable u values / open vs closed panel designs etc etc and all the effects these decisions will have on the whole build including , cost, erecting logistics , build speed etc through to finished building performance
Vision have been with us from day one on every decision, not only in relation to the timber frame but across the whole build, they've always been happy to share their experience and wisdom and are always quick to say: " no its cheaper/quicker for you to supply and fit this or that element onsite yourselves" etc.
Another of the many good points for us about working with Vision Development is that they can scale up to deliver as many buildings as needed but also the "family run" attitude and way of working makes them able to build smaller bespoke timber frame designs to our exact needs.
All our buildings were delivered and erected exactly to the pre- agreed programme. The cost is always very competitive and build quality is always very high.
In short, for their experience and professionalism, for their total commitment to quality throughout, but mostly for their friendly, honest, can-do work ethic, I can't recommend Vision Development highly enough !

On time and within budget!
We had to find a timber frame manufacturer. Our Architect supported us to find Vision.
This seemed a little daunting at first until we spoke to Vision Development and read the many positive reviews. Also considering the benefits of a timber frame over brick.
I am so pleased with our choice as the works have gone very smoothly, on time and in budget. No scary extras.
The wood was of a very high standard. The team are easy to work with and worked well onsite with the other tradesman. Luke the contracts
manager was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy.
We are very happy to see visions part in our masterplan finished and would give Vision 5 stars.
We decided to take on a large renovation project and extend our home upwards and outwards. Our house had a flat roof and needed a new timber roof from scratch and a timber frame single storey extension.George Mazurek

Vision helped turn our architect’s design for a three bedroom annex into a reality
They managed the process from inception to construction, working to a fixed budget. The timber frame construction was erected on the scheduled day, and completed within a week of arriving on site, to budget. The accuracy of the planning meant we could co-ordinate all the trades with the arrival of the timber frame.
Luke was particularly helpful throughout the process. He advised not us only on the timber frame construction process, but also met with our builder and provided additional support with decisions on foundations, insulation and general planning. It is the first time I have completed a building project from the ‘ground up’ and will definitely use Vision for our next project.
