Vision Development is now using ISO-BLOCO 600 tape to seal around doors, windows and other joints in our timber frame solutions. This tape is ideal for use in external joinery where airtightness or high degrees of insulation are required.
We put the tape alongside edges of windows and doors in the timber frame panels. When fitted the tape expands in air temperature to fill gaps. For example a 5mm tape when fitted will expand to up to 15mm so will easily fill a 10mm gap.
The tape is adhesive on one side to aid fitting. The tape begins to expand after it has been unpackaged, unrolled and exposed to the air. It may take 24 to 48 hours for the tape to expand to its full size. After it has been fitted, the tape can be painted with standard emulsion paint.
Using this tape seals the walls and joints against wind, dust and driving rain. The expanded tape is permanently elastic and will cope with movement. The tape is also fire resistant.
Using the tape brings a number of advantages…
- Air tightness
- Thermal insulation
- Acoustic insulation
We use similar tapes to make our panels weather tight when this is required.
